JERUSALEM (Reuters) -A surface-to-surface missile fired at central Israel from Yemen hit an unpopulated space, inflicting no accidents, Israel’s navy stated on Sunday.

Moments earlier, air raid sirens had sounded in Tel Aviv and throughout central Israel, sending residents working for shelter.

“Following the sirens that sounded a short time in the past in central Israel, a surface-to-surface missile was recognized crossing into central Israel from the east and fell in an open space. No accidents had been reported,” the navy stated.
