Souvankham Thammavongsa joins Deborah Treisman to learn and focus on “The Dimension of Issues,” by Samanta Schweblin, which was printed in The New Yorker in 2017. Thammavongsa is a Laotian Canadian author. Her publications embrace the poetry collections “Gentle” and “Cluster” and the story assortment “ Pronounce Knife,” which received the Giller Prize in 2020. She has been publishing fiction and nonfiction in The New Yorker since 2021.
