The Reserve Financial institution of India (RBI) on Friday mandated using Authorized Entity Identifier (LEI) and Distinctive Transaction Identifier (UTI) for transactions in monetary markets.

These identifiers are key world requirements for selling transparency within the monetary markets, the central financial institution mentioned in a launch.

LEI code is a 20-character distinctive id code assigned to entities which might be events to a monetary transaction. This code can be relevant to all OTC transactions undertaken by entities apart from people within the markets for Authorities securities, cash market devices, overseas alternate devices and derivatives, as per the discharge.

For customers/shoppers enterprise non-derivative overseas alternate transactions, the LEI code shall be relevant just for transactions involving an quantity equal to or exceeding USD a million or equal thereof in different currencies, the central financial institution mentioned.
