Ocean County hearth: 6 properties evacuated as wildfire burns in New Jersey
JACKSON TOWNSHIP, New Jersey (WABC) — A number of properties have been evacuated on Wednesday attributable to a wildfire burning in Ocean County, New Jersey.
A complete of 25 constructions are threatened, officers stated in a 7:50 p.m. replace.
Based on the state’s Forest Fireplace Service, six properties have been evacuated on the west aspect of Stump Tavern Highway and there have been voluntary evacuations on the east aspect of Stump Tavern Highway.
Stump Tavern Highway is closed from Route 571 to Route 528 in Jackson Township.
Officers stated the hearth broken about 175 acres and was 20% contained.
Crews are prepping and strengthening firelines and are using backing hearth operations to assist include the blaze.
No accidents have been reported.
The reason for the hearth stays underneath investigation.
