Explosions have taken place at a Russian ammunition depot east of Moscow, the nation’s defence ministry has mentioned.

The blasts occurred in an ammunition warehouse at a defence facility within the western Vladimir area on Tuesday. The positioning is believed to be a key ammunition storage website for the Russian military.

Russia’s army blamed the blast on ammunition which had detonated after the storage constructing caught hearth resulting from a “violation of security necessities”.
