Manhattan gasoline leak: A number of buildings close to Columbia College in Morningside Heights evacuated amid high-pressure leak

MORNINGSIDE HEIGHTS, Manhattan (WABC) — A number of buildings in Morningside Heights have been evacuated and subway service was disrupted following a gasoline leak on Wednesday morning.
Police say a gasoline principal was struck throughout road excavation work round 11 a.m. close to the intersection of Broadway and West 122nd Road.
A number of buildings, together with the Manhattan Faculty of Music, needed to be evacuated.
Con Edison capped the leak and no accidents have been reported.
Subway service on the 1 line was briefly suspended between 96th Road and 168th Road-Washington Heights.
The FDNY and Con Edison carried out security checks all through every construction and used gasoline meters to detect any presence of gasoline.
All readings have been reported adverse.
