John Ceriello, FDNY Captain, retires after three many years of devoted service

NEW YORK (WABC) — After greater than three many years of devoted service, an FDNY captain completed his final tour at Rescue 1 on Monday and headed into retirement.

Captain John Ceriello joined the FDNY on Feb. 18, 1988, and was assigned to Engine Firm 225 after graduating from the Fireplace Academy, the division stated in a publish on X.

Over his 37 years of service, Ceriello had stops in Squad 18, Squad 252 and as a firefighter in Rescue 1, based on the FDNY.

After being promoted to the rank of captain in 2016, he was assigned to Rescue 1 in 2020, main one of many 5 elite rescue corporations within the metropolis.

All through his FDNY profession, the division says Capt. Ceriello taught in varied capacities and served on New York Activity Drive One, which is a part of FEMA’s Nationwide City Search and Rescue Response System, deploying to emergencies all through the nation and the Caribbean.
