Shares in Globe Life (NYSE:) fell 2% in premarket buying and selling Tuesday after the life and medical health insurance supplier stated it had obtained a preliminary, casual inquiry from the SEC concerning current allegations made by brief sellers.

The corporate emphasised that the SEC has not began a proper investigation, made any claims towards Globe Life, or indicated any intention to take action.

Globe Life doesn’t anticipate that this probe will result in any important monetary losses.

“Globe Life intends to completely cooperate with the SEC,” the corporate stated in a press release.

“Whereas no assurances may be made, at current administration doesn’t consider that it’s fairly attainable or possible that this matter will end in a fabric loss,” it added.
