DHS responds to say of wrongful ICE detention – NBC New York

The Dept. of Homeland safety is responding, after a Bronx man says he was injured throughout what he describes as a case of mistaken identification involving immigration brokers in Norwood.

Jeury Concepcion advised NBC New York he suffered a concussion and wanted stitches after ICE brokers immediately confronted him on Wednesday.

Concepcion says the brokers had their weapons drawn and that they didn’t determine themselves in the course of the encounter. “They didn’t need to speak to me. They need to kill me,” he advised Information 4 this week.

“They didn’t determine themselves as ICE,” he added. “They grabbed me and threw me on the ground and began hurting me.”

In a press release to NBC New York, DHS says ICE was conducting a focused enforcement operation after they noticed somebody who matched the bodily description of the particular person they had been searching for, outdoors of that particular person's residence.

In reference to Concepcion, the DHS said, "When regulation enforcement approached the person, he turned combative and refused to determine himself."

The company additionally says a crowd of so-called “anti-ice agitators” swarmed officers, forcing them to take the person away to a protected place to complete the questioning. DHS says Concepcion was then promptly launched. The assertion provides that he was not arrested, and that DHS shouldn’t be arresting U.S. residents by mistake.

Concepcion says he plans to file a proper criticism.
