Three Years Later, a ‘Report Card’ for the Taliban
EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW — Three years in the past in the present day, Taliban forces marched into Kabul, as American forces had been leaving Afghanistan, and a U.S.-backed authorities collapsed. The second marked a shocking and humiliating finish to the two-decade American mission that was born within the aftermath of the assaults on September 11, 2001, and the return to energy of an extremist group that first dominated Afghanistan within the years previous to the September 11 assaults. These years of Taliban rule had been marked by a few of the world’s most draconian insurance policies in direction of girls and schooling, and the sheltering of Osama Bin Laden and his lieutenants who deliberate the September 11 terror.
U.S. forces invaded Afghanistan and rapidly ousted the Taliban from energy. Almost twenty years later, when the People introduced their plans to go away, the Taliban started a rout of Afghan cities that culminated within the seize of Kabul on August 15, 2021.
