Officers set to rally, elevate Delight flag at Stonewall Nationwide Monument after Nationwide Parks Service elimination
GREENWICH VILLAGE, Manhattan (WABC) — Native leaders plan to re-raise the Delight flag on the Stonewall Nationwide Monument on Thursday afternoon after the Trump administration changed it with an American flag this week.
The flag was taken down below new steerage from the Trump administration, stating that solely U.S. flags, or flags licensed by Congress, can fly at websites run by the Nationwide Park Service.
However some say an exception had beforehand been granted below President Joe Biden.
The location was designated a nationwide monument by President Barack Obama in 2016 to commemorate the Stonewall rebellion of 1969, when LGBTQIA+ neighborhood members protested police after a raid on the Stonewall Inn.

Earlier Thursday, Metropolis Council members and neighborhood members rallied and spoke out in opposition to the brand new flag steerage from the Trump administration.
