Ichiro needs to ‘have a drink’ with Corridor of Fame voter who did not decide him

When you didn’t vote for Ichiro Suzuki, please rise up.
The Japanese baseball celebrity who was voted into the Baseball Corridor of Fame earlier this week had a message for the Baseball Writers Affiliation of America member who didn’t give him their vote: Let’s get a drink.
Suzuki missed out on being voted into the Corridor unanimously as a result of one individual left the longtime Mariners outfielder off of their poll.
Whereas many baseball observers expressed shock and anger over that voter denying Suzuki the prospect to be voted in unanimously, the 2001 American League MVP was extra forgiving when talking to reporters at an occasion held at Cooperstown on Thursday.
“I used to be in a position to obtain many votes from the writers, and I’m grateful for them, however there was one author that I wasn’t in a position to get a vote from,” Ichiro stated by an interpreter. “I want to invite him over to my home, and we’ll have a drink collectively, and we’ll have a superb chat. Very grateful to be right here and thanks.”
The remark elicited chuckles from Suzuki’s fellow class of 2025 inductees Billy Wagner and CC Sabathia.
The identification of the lone BBWA voter who didn’t vote for Suzuki has but to be revealed.
Suzuki obtained 99.7 % of the vote to make it into the Corridor of Fame, which might have made him solely the second participant to be unanimously inducted into Cooperstown.
The outfielder spent 19 years in main league baseball — 14 of them in Seattle.
In his three years in The Bronx after a commerce in 2012, Suzuki hit .281 with 84 RBIs and 49 stolen bases.
Suzuki, a 10-time All-star, completed his stateside profession with 3,089 hits.
