Behind the U.S. Letter – and Ultimatum – To Israel

DEEP DIVE — It’s a kind of “non-public” paperwork that was nearly actually written for public consumption. A spokesman for Secretary of State Antony Blinken insisted that the strict letter from Blinken and Protection Secretary Lloyd Austin to Israeli leaders, dated Sunday and rapidly leaked to Israel’s Channel 12, was “not about making any type of threats.” 

“It’s about seeing the state of affairs reversed,” State spokesman Matthew Miller stated, “in order that the civilians in Gaza who should not getting satisfactory entry to meals and drugs and different humanitarian items right now really see on account of our efforts a change of their each day lives.”
