Lake Road Dive recorded their first album with cash that their bassist received in a songwriting contest. They constructed a following the old style manner, touring small venues for years and rising a loyal following of followers—together with David Remnick—who considered them as an under-the-radar secret. Nearly twenty years later, the band finds themselves onstage at Madison Sq.
