Passenger detained at Newark Airport after incident on United Airways flight

NEWARK, New Jersey (WABC) — A passenger was detained at Newark Airport after an incident on board a United Airways flight.

Port Authority Police say they acquired a name simply after 6 p.m. Saturday about an unruly passenger on board United flight 1837 because it arrived at Newark Liberty Airport from the Dominican Republic.

Police detained a 48-year-old-man on the gate. He was taken to the hospital for a psychiatric analysis.

There have been 170 passengers and 6 crewmembers on board the Boeing 737.

One individual refused medical consideration.
